My Story

Mandy Tilt BA (Hons), Cert Ed, ADG.

I have held academic leadership roles in performing arts colleges in London for the last 25 years, and have gained a wealth  of experience in education and working with young people.   My belief is that all students can achieve their potential with the correct support and learning strategies.  I have seen this first hand when helping physically gifted students achieve their full potential academically, allowing them to maximise their success in a competitive environment.

On a personal level, one of my teenage teenage daughters was diagnosed with dyslexia at an early age. I saw her struggles on a daily basis and it was not until she started getting the correct help that she began to make any progress.  I could see how not having the right support can have a detrimental impact on a child into adulthood. This led me to further study and build on my teaching experience as I completed qualifications in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy through the Dyslexia Action Training and Professional Development body.

My mission is to empower those individuals with dyslexia and additional learning needs to reach their full potential.

Testimonials

Lisa (Mum to Millie, aged 14)

Mandy was recommended by a friend to assess my daughter for dyslexia.  Mandy provided an in-depth report and spent time going through it with me to explain it in accessible terms.  She was very caring and took a personalised approach to tutoring sessions, taking time to get to know my daughter, her learning style and interests to keep the sessions engaging and interesting. Mandy made it much easier for me and my daughter to navigate and understand dyslexia, and my daughter's confidence has noticeably improved since she started working with Mandy.  I would highly recommend her!

Adriana (BA (Hons) Student

Ultimately, Mandy's patience, kindness, knowledge and professionalism did not only help me as a neurodiverse student to complete my degree but she also helped me to see my dyslexia in a whole new light. The encouragement I received from Mandy in my tutorials brought so much in a positive and safe learning environment.  In the time I spent with Mandy, I developed more academically than I had throughout my whole school education.  I can't thank her enough for how dedicated and involved she was in furthering my knowledge and understanding.  I always felt highly supported by her.
